Forget all these silly “Get a Mac” and “Mac vs PC” ad campaigns, since the real opponents in the software world are neither Microsoft nor Apple, but two philosophies Open Source vs Proprietary!
But Microsoft, the mother and protector of all proprietary, for sure has an opponent, and it is not Apple or Google, but it is Linux which threatens it’s beloved money maker Windows OS.
Why Linux not Macintrash?
- First I have never read that Steve Ballmer (Microsoft current CEO) has called Macintrash a cancer as he described Linux. [read it]
- Second I have never read that drunk Bill Gates have ever said that Macintrash is the best OS as he said about Linux. [read it]
- Since Macintrash is not open source but proprietary in another form.
- Due to the fact that a 85% open source software world means no Microsoft, but a 85% Apple software world means a more evil Microsoft under the name of Apple inc.
Future of the Linux desktop:
The Linux desktop is slowly being spread through out computers, but that doesn’t mean that it is not a real threat to Microsoft.
Since this little market share on desktops is due to many reasons, that Linux will overcome in the coming years as more users will use it and recommend it to be installed on their computers when they buy them.
But have you ever asked yourself what will change if Apple’s Macintrash replaced Windows?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
But imagine if Linux became the most popular OS then most software will be open source, and programmers will seek to make money through different ways, for example games will be given to you for free with their source code, but if you want to play with other users online you would have to pay a certain amount of money per month or year.
And several other changes like for example the termination of proprietary formats and more free software.
Therefore what scares Microsoft is not snobbish Apple, but almighty Linux and the open source world in general, which threaten to take over Microsoft, and free the software world of Bill Gates’ evil plans that ruined it to make him rich!
Finally Apple doesn’t aim and has no hope to replace PCs by Macs, due to its high prices and several other reasons, but Linux has great hope of one day being the most popular operating system on PCs and even on Macs.
